FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1) What do I bring to my session?

Bathing suit, towel (if you prefer to bring your own – we have towels on site), and water bottle. Clean rubber slides are nice to have during your session, but are not mandatory.

2) Are towels provided? Is there a fee?

While we encourage you to bring your own towels to reduce our environmental footprint, we do have towels on site and they are included in your session. We do not charge any extra fees for towels and will always provide extras at your request.

3) My 30-minute session says 60 minutes total and my 60-minute session says 90 minutes total. What gives?

Unfortunately, this is a bug in our scheduling software (Mindbody). We book in a “buffer” period between each session to clean/turn over the rooms and incase our customers are running a bit early/late. This buffer should be hidden to customers but due to Mindbody, it is reflected in the total session length. 30-minute sessions are 30 minutes and 60-minute sessions are 60 minutes.

4) How hot are your Saunas?

Our saunas hover between 190-200 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to our sauna heaters being on a timer, we have them located up front. We usually keep them full blast but can easily turn them lower at your request.

5) Can I pour water on the Sauna Rocks for a Steam experience?

Yes, you can put water directly on the rocks!! We ask that you do this sparingly, but this is a great way to create a steam experience and make the sauna hotter. If you were hoping to have the saunas turned higher, adding water to the rocks does make a significant difference.

6) How cold are your Plunge Tubs?

We generally maintain our cold plunges around 5-6 degrees Celsius. We have had them as high at 9 degrees and as low as 2 degrees and have found the 5-6 degree range to be the happy medium for everyone. We can adjust these temperatures a few degrees in advance of your session with some notice.

7) How long do you recommend in the Sauna?

We always try to made recommendations that are well studied and evidenced based. At the temperatures we run our saunas at, the “gold standard” for a session is 20 minutes. This length ensures you are getting all of the benefits but listen to your body. Some will require longer or shorter sessions depending. Well heat adapted individuals and experienced sauna users can usually go longer!

8) How long do you recommend in the Cold Plunge?

Similar to above, we always recommend protocols that are evidenced based. The gold standard is 3 minutes but this will vary depending on your personal biology and goals. Many will need to work their way up to 3 minutes but start with what you can handle. We promise it gets easier!

9) Any more points on Hot/Cold Therapy protocols?

EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT! We have general recommendations such as above but are happy to provide more tailored recommendations based on your personal situation and goals! I always tailor my sessions depending on many factors.
